Advocating for Complete Streets funding at the City of St. Petersburg’s Annual Budget Open House
The public was invited to the City's annual Budget Open House on April 13th at City Hall. The Budget Open House included an overview of the Fiscal Year 2027 budget process, remarks from Mayor Kenneth T. Welch and City Council. Connect Pinellas during public comment, addressed including Compete Streets funding as a budget priority for the upcoming fiscal year, as well as local partnership with FDOT to pursue alternative funding initiatives, such as Safe Routes to Schools, to address much needed infrastructure work like the much neglected Lakewood Trail Connector, which connects 31st S and 34 St S under I-275.
